Heads-Up Versus multiway
- How do you play with many opponents ?
Less fancy. Slowplay less, semi-bluffless, avoid bluffing, and avoid inducing bluffs with checks that give free cards.
- What about your implied odds ?
They have increased.
- What does this mean ?
You should be much more apt toand even raise with small pairs, suited connectors, and hands like A♠ 6♠.
- What else ?
You should not raise with unsuited high cards, and it may be right to fold hands like AT, KT, and even AJ and KJ.
- Example ?
You hold K♦T♥ on the button, and five or six players have limped in. You should strongly consider folding.
- What happens on the flop ?
Many poker hands play differently depending on the size of the pot and the number of players in the pot.
-
Suppose you have A♠ K♣, the flop is A♦T♣ 3♦. If the player on your right bets into you, what should you do ?
If the pot is small you may only want to call. But if the pot is big you would now want to raise.
- Suppose you flop a small flush draw and the pot is big ?
It might be correct to check and hope that the bet comes on your left, then you can check-raise and build a big pot.
- Is this play recommended in tough games ?
No.
- Why ?
You are now more likely to be up against a bigger holdem poker draw and the original bettor is more likely to reraise.
