BOSTON DE FONTAINEBLEAU

BOSTON DE FONTAINEBLEAU is a variation of the parent game with general poker principles that are very similar, but with interesting modifications and simpler scoring.
There are no preference: the suits rank in the order Diamonds, Hearts, clubs, Spades, and a player who bids Six Hearts overbids he who has bid Six Clubs, and so on. The introduction of a bid known as Piccolissimo, is a contract to make exactly one trick, without a trump suit, after discarding a card which is not shown; and an Open Slam is one to win all thirteen tricks with the cards exposed on the table.

The cards are dealt in bundles of four-four-five, as they are in the parent game, and the player on the left of the dealer bids first. There is, however, no pool.

The bids rank in the order: Pass, Boston, Six, Little misère, Seven Piccolissimo, Eight, Grand Misère, Nine, Little Spread, Ten, Grand Spread, Eleven, Twelve, Grand Slam, Open Slam.
As in the parent game, the bidding continues until three players pass a bid in turn, but once a player has passed he cannot re-enter the bidding.
Although the game is played all against all, a hand may sometimes be played under partnership conditions, because if a player has contracted for "oston, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine or Ten, he may call for a whister (partner). If accepted, the two partners play from where they are seated, and the whister has to make three extra tricks.

The player on the left of the dealer leads to the first trick, and the play continues as in the parent online poker game.
If the hand is played with a trump suit, the Ace, King, Queen and Jack are honours. If the contract is made the declarer (or the declarer and the whister) scores for an extra four tricks if all four honours are held, and for an extra two tricks if three honours are held, but only if the contract is made, and only for contracts from "oston to Ten, excluding Misères, Piccolissimo and Little Spread.
The scoring table is set out below, the figures are the units that a player receives from, or pays to each player if he is successful, or unsuccessful, in his contract. If the declarer plays with a whister the stakes, win or lose, are shared between them.
